Little Stranger Long Beach Concert reviews
Audience Sadly Steamrolled
tsk tsk tsk. After 25+ years of love for Little Stranger's music, I looked forward to last night's "live" performance. Sadly, the three screens behind the performers were so distracting that the "live" musicians could not be seen and at times we weren't even sure they were still on stage. I place "live" in quotes because we are not certain what we witnessed last evening a day later. More than half of the songs were victims of a disjointed stage, techno screen mess that I honestly could not tell if the music came from the screens or the "live" musicians on stage and the story lines imposed on the audience. The musical agility and skill of these musician artists were truly lost by this circus event. Chip, Chip, Chip. Net net -- stay home, enjoy your Steamroller CDs and donate the $100+ ticket price to a worthy cause.
